Brushcutters

BrushcutterNot sure what brushcutter to buy?

For homeowner and light-to-medium commercial lawn trimming needs, the Honda UMS 425 or UMK 425 trimmers provide ample power and torque to handle demanding applications. Thanks to Honda's mini 4-stroke technology, the GX25 (25cc) engine will not "bog down" or stall even in the thickest grass like some other gas trimmers will.

If you’re a commercial user or homeowner whose requirements include brushcutting along with trimming, the Honda UMK 435 trimmer offers the ultimate hand-held solution for heavy-duty trimming and brush removal.
The “LN”  model trimmer is a standard "loop" handle design and the "UN" model features a commercial "bike" handle design for the serious professional whose needs range from regular trimming to clearing heavy brush, saplings and small trees.

How do I wind the cutting line on my straight shaft brushcutter?

Proceed with CAUTION.

Stop the engine and confirm the head is stopped when you do any service on the head. Make sure the cover is secured exactly to the head. Improper assembly causes dispersing of itself and inner parts of the head when rotating it.

  • Pull off the cover from the housing. Pull up the cover, pressing two latches which are located opposite each other on the side of the housing. (Fig 4)
  • Take out spool from the housing.
  • Fold 18ft.of cutting line in two halves leaving one half 3 inches longer than the other.
  • Hook the folding point of the line on the slit of the spool centre flange and align both halves into each gutter in the direction shown by LH arrows on one of the spool outer flanges. (Fig 5)
  • Wind the lines up firmly to the direction. (Fig 6)
  • Hook the lines to the line holding notches on one of the outer flanges. Leave 4-6 inches of the lines from the notches (do not let the lines loosen). (Fig 7)
  • A spring should stay in the housing hub. Put the spool onto the housing, positioning it so it can freely move up and down against the spring tension.
  • Put the lines into the eyelets through the slits located on the eyelets. (Fig 8)
  • Put the cover back onto the housing aligning the latches and windows on the cover. (Fig 9)
  • Make sure the latches are fully spread in each window. (Fig 10)
