Professional Garden Care Demands Honda
22 September, 2008 - With the onset of spring hailing longer days, warmer nights and the re-emergence of luscious greenery, the demand for professional garden care services is on the rise and the requirement for tough, efficient and reliable power equipment is essential to endure the rigours of commercial work.
As Australia's leading four-stroke garden care equipment manufacturer, Honda offers a complete range of fuel efficient four-stroke power equipment, providing performance and quality combined with low fuel consumption.
Honda's advanced four-stroke technology eliminates the mess and time it takes to mix two-stroke fuel and offers superior efficiency, lower noise levels and reduced exhaust emissions, compared to two-stroke equipment.
Garden care contractors and maintenance departments are spoilt for choice with nine Honda Buffalo commercial lawnmower models available to choose from.
Buffalo Bull models are equipped with the powerful GSV190 engine with cast-iron sleeve for even greater performance and longevity in tough and dusty conditions.
Available in either standard (HRU197) or mulch and catch (HRU197D), the Buffalo Bull is ideal for homeowners in rural areas with large blocks to maintain or for light duty commercial work. In addition to the 19" deck models, a 21" deck option (HRU217D) is also available, which helps reduce cutting time especially in open spaces.
For even more demanding conditions, Buffalo Classic models come into their own and have long been a favourite amongst professional contractors for whom performance and reliability is paramount.
Powering the Classic models is Honda's tried and tested GXV160, also with cast-iron sleeve.
The Classic range is available in 19" standard (HRU196) and mulch and catch (HRU196D) form, or as a 21" standard self propelled (HRU216 SU) with mulch and catch self propelled (HRU216D SU) option.
The self-propelled Classic models have a three-speed transmission and are well suited to the high frequency, long-hour use that is part and parcel of commercial mowing work.
At the pinnacle of the Honda mower range is the self propelled HRC 216 Commercial mower, featuring a rugged 21" pressed steel, powder coated deck and powered by the GXV 160 engine.
Coupled with a variable speed hydrostatic gearbox that drives the rear wheels, the Commercial mower has found favour with municipal councils, gardening contractors and the like, for jobs that may be too small to justify the use of a ride-on mower. Furthermore, the HRC216 Commercial mower provides optimal power and fuel efficiency and incorporates an impressive safety blade clutch that lets the engine run without the blades being engaged.
Completing the Honda Buffalo range is the HUT216 Utility, which shares the same long-lasting GXV engine as the Classic and features a generous 21" heavy duty, powder coated one-piece steel cutting deck. With no front deck edge, the Buffalo Utility offers maximum performance in long and uneven grass and terrain.
The Buffalo range is built at Honda Australia's Melbourne manufacturing plant and is designed and constructed to meet the toughest of Australian conditions – Honda is one of only a few remaining power equipment manufacturers to continue building locally.
Complementing the Honda Buffalo lawnmower models is a selection of advanced four-stroke commercial brushcutters, available in four variants of two models, the UMK425 and UMK435.
The UMK425 loop handle model, powered by Honda's 25cc Generation II mini four-stroke GX25 engine has recently undergone a price slash making it even more popular with professional garden care contractors. Equipped with a straight shaft and a tap-and-go nylon line head, the UMK425 is also available (at extra cost) with four-tooth metal blades for heavy duty applications.
The UMK425 is also available with a bike handle (UMK425U) for minimal fatigue and greater control during long-hour use and larger areas.
Those requiring additional power will be well served by the UMK435 models, again available in either loop handle (UMK435L) or bike handle (UMK435U) models.
Powered by the Generation II, 35cc GX35 mini-four-stroke engine, these models have strong power and torque characteristics to comfortably deal with stubborn weeds, while offering excellent fuel efficiency and minimal vibration.
With a heavy duty tap-and-go nylon line head and a four-tooth metal blade, UMK435 models are popular with professional contractors who are increasingly turning to four-stroke equipment to minimise their fuel use.
All Honda brushcutters across the commercial range feature 360 degree-inclinable engines for continuous power on difficult angles and slopes, making them well suited for use on undulating terrain.
In addition to the extensive lawnmower and brushcutter range available, Honda offers a world first with its four-stroke-powered hedgecutter and blower, to ensure all the demands of the professional garden contractor are catered for.
The Honda HHH25 Hedgecutter, powered by Honda's advanced 1.1 hp (0.81 kW), 360 degree inclinable GX25 mini four-stroke engine, offers precision trimming from its three way adjustable rear handle whilst the heavy duty double sided blade allows for a 720 mm cutting length in both directions.
Also powered by Honda's mini four-stroke GX25 engine, the HHB25D Blower is extremely comfortable to use due to a vibration isolating handle with rubberized hand grip – an important consideration when working in the garden for extended periods of time.
As well as offering the lower noise emissions associated with four-stroke power equipment, the blower features an anti-suction fan cover to significantly reduce the tendency of the user's clothes to be drawn into the suction inlet during operation, maintaining the unit's impressive 70 m/sec wind velocity output.
These heavy duty products are now on show for the first time in a dedicated Honda Power Equipment Contractors catalogue, allowing commercial contractors to easily identify the most suitable products for their business requirements. The catalogue is now available to customers on request by contacting their local Honda Dealer or visiting the website.
